Laura Myers, MD, FAAD

Board certified dermatologist Dr. Laura Myers grew up in Adair, Iowa. She attended Drake University, graduating summa cum laude. From there, she attended Dartmouth Medical School, where she received the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  She returned home to Iowa to complete her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa. After two years as an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Iowa, she settled into a successful practice in Ames, Iowa, where she has been for the past 15 years. 

As a physician, Dr. Myers strives to form strong collaborative relationships with her patients. She enjoys combining her scientific expertise and clinical experience with her patients’ unique values and goals in order to develop effective and personalized treatment plans.  Dr. Myers is excited to offer her expertise in medical, surgical and aesthetic dermatology at Iowa Dermatology Consultants, PLLC. 

Dr. Myers, her husband, and two children have lived in Ankeny for the past 15 years. While it’s not always easy to juggle the kids’ busy school, sports, and activities schedules with a demanding career, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

In her spare time, she is an avid reader and an amateur novelist who aspires to one day see her scribbles on the shelf of a local bookstore.
